Business Development & Communications Coordinator – New York

I am legally authorized to work in the US.

DEAR FIELD OPERATIONS,

I am writing to express my enthusiasm for the Business Development & Communications Coordinator position. I am a recent Boston University graduate with a BA in Philosophy and Psychology, concentrating in Environmental Philosophy and Industrial Organization — though I spent my first two years studying Graphic Design and the History of Art & Architecture.

I fell in love with a different aspect of landscape architecture within each discipline I pursued. Environmental philosophy taught me to understand it as the quintessential meeting point between human and planet — the most holistically beneficial way to reconcile us with each other and our environment. My background in art and design taught me that the best, most enduring work learns from nature rather than rejecting or dominating it. And psychology gave me the framework to understand why it matters so viscerally to people, that access to green space is not a luxury but a measurable contributor to mental health, cognitive function, and our capacity to form communities.

Professionally, I bring a combination of experience across the arts, communications, and institutional development. At Pace Gallery, I worked closely with registrar and sales teams, maintaining detailed artwork records, preparing condition reports, and coordinating logistics for exhibitions and client viewings. In my role in Development and Alumni Relations, I managed CRM databases, drafted donor correspondence, and contributed to the planning and execution of faculty and alumni events. At the Gibson House Museum, I have developed and delivered original tour content for diverse audiences, translating complex historical and architectural material into clear, engaging narratives. Across these roles I have built strong organizational instincts, a comfort with data-driven processes, and a demonstrated ability to move between creative and operational work without losing footing in either.

I am proficient across the Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign and Photoshop, and have hands-on experience in graphic design, social media strategy, and written communications. I am a careful, self-directed worker who takes deadlines seriously and communicates proactively. Above all, I am deeply inspired by Field Operations’ mission and projects, and I feel my personal and professional goals and values as both a social and sustainable being align deeply with your work.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

SINCERELY,
KATHARINE ALBERT
